Who am I
I’m a dedicated Associate and Solicitor working in our serious injury team with a passion to help clients that have sustained life-changing injuries. I have over 15 years of experience in serious and catastrophic injury cases. I’m committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for my clients.
I specialise in motorcyclist collision claims, but interest extends beyond securing rehabilitation and compensation. I’m deeply involved in promoting biker safety, actively supporting young people and the whole biking community. The enjoyment in my work stems from the camaraderie and diversity within the biking community, inspiring me to advocate for safety measures such as rider improvement and first aid courses.
My unwavering commitment to my clients and the biking community highlights my dedication to making a positive impact both professionally and personally. My advocacy for safety and tireless support for those affected by serious injuries, especially within the biking community, serve as a testament to my compassion and drive as a Serious Injury Solicitor.
Amongst my proudest achievements is ensuring that one of my biker clients, who suffered a severe traumatic brain injury, received the necessary rehabilitation and interim payments to say his wedding vows.
Why I do this work
I chose to work as a personal injury solicitor to help people who are at the worst point in their life. It is important that the families are taken care of in terms of justice for their loved one and also ensure that they obtain the correct financially support.
I live in Derbyshire and have grown up seeing and hearing motorcyclists enjoying the roads in the High Peak. As vulnerable road users it is key that they have a lawyer who not only understands motorcyclists and what it means to them, but also how to get them the best rehabilitation and outcome.
I do a lot of work in the motorcycle community to encourage bikers to take their own safety seriously and promoting greater awareness by motorists. I’m a trustee for Mental Health Motorbike charity and support a number of different charities including Blood Bikes and the British Motorcyclist Federation. I enjoy working in the motorcycle community, and see daily what a difference the community makes to the lives of so many others.
How I work with clients
I use my natural empathy to really understand what a client is going thorough and to understand what is important to them. I strive to get the best results and outcome.

LOAD MOREWhat I enjoy about working at Fletchers
I have the opportunity to support clients when they are at their most vulnerable and really get to know the families who I work with. The Fletchers team structure means that we can support families through the whole process.
From the motorcycle side of things, the firm has a history of helping motorcyclists and was founded by motorcyclists. It’s a privilege to be able to support the motorcycle community in Fletchers name, both in terms of supporting clients and supporting the wider community with safety and mental health initiatives.
“I use my natural empathy to really understand what a client is going thorough and to understand what is important to them.”
Mary Lomas
Outside of work
I love to run (10kms and trail running), hiking (I live in the Peak District), I enjoy horse riding and pilates. I also love cocktail making, not just the drinking part but the making of them and how the ingredients interact!
I see as many shows as I can, be that musical theatre, gigs or comedy shows. I’m also a trustee for Mental Health Motorbike, plus I do like going to Oulton Park to watch the motorbike racing.
